Youthbuild Application Process

The application period for the August 2025-2026 school year is now closed.
If spots open up, we'll reach out to applicants in the order applications were received when our application period opens up.

We are excited to help you take the next step in your journey, no matter where you're starting from. We know that life can bring unique challenges, and we're here to provide support in building new skills, earning a GED, and achieving your goals.

You'll need a few documents to get started, but don't worry - we're here to walk you through the process. Start by reading the Eligibility & Required Documents section below, followed by the Application Process section. Then fill out the Interest Form that currently serves as our Wait list. We look forward to connecting with you as soon as our application period opens back up!

NWGHA YouthBuild Application Process

  1. Interest Form 
    Complete the form and your information will be forwarded to our YouthBuild Team.

  2. Eligibility Screening 
    We will reach out to complete eligibility screening.

  3. Intake Appointment, Application and Documentation 
    Complete intake appointment and provide all documentation for enrollment.

  4. Mental Toughness Orientation 
    Start on your set orientation date.

Eligibility and Required Documents

  1. Ages 16-24
    1. GED for 16 year olds must obtain a court order
    2. GED for 17-18 must have parental consent

  2. Must have government issued ID (State ID/Driver's License/Passport), Birth Certificate (Passport can substitute) and Social Security Card (Right to Work)

  3. Must have withdrew or left school without obtaining a high school credential at least 30 days prior to enrolling in the YouthBuild program (there may be an exception if referred by school counselor)

  4. Are experiencing one of the following:
    1. 200% below Federal Poverty Level (Household Paystubs, Food Stamp/ Medicaid/ TANF Documentation/ Self Attestation of No Income/ Written statement from an individual providing temporary residence or a shelter)

    2. Foster Care (Foster Agency Paperwork/Court Documentation/Social Services)

    3. Currently on Probation or referred by Court or Probation Officer (Court Documents/Criminal-Police Records/Letter from Probation-Parole/Self-Attestation)

    4. Migrant Farm Worker Youth (Personal Statement/Employment Documentation)

    5. Unhoused or legally-considered 'Runaway Youth' (Letter from Case Manager/Shelter/HS Determination Letter)

    6. Child of Incarcerated Legal Guardian (Court/ Incarceration Records/ Self Attestation)

    7. Individual with disability (504 records/ doctors records/ case management records/ medical records)
